Bring data across
Importing reviews from CSV or Yotpo
Download the sample, prepare your data and check product matches before importing.
Work through the path
- Keep a copy of your original export. For a generic CSV, start with our downloadable sample file.
- Include rating (a whole number from 1 to 5), body (review text) and a product identifier. Optional columns include author, title and created_at.
- Replace the sample product IDs with IDs from your own Shopify store, or choose a different matching strategy and its source column.
- Open Settings → Import/Export, choose CSV or Yotpo, upload the file and select the identifier and source column. For Yotpo, use the original export headers.
- Run Preview and resolve missing, ambiguous and invalid rows. The preview checks a sample; the import also validates every row.
- Start the import, check the final imported/skipped counts and review publication status before showing the reviews in your store.
Dates should use an unambiguous format such as 2026-01-15. Use UTF-8 CSV and quote fields containing commas. Imported reviews are not automatically verified purchases.

Keep the result understandable
Use a representative product or workflow first, check the storefront experience on mobile and keep a record of any mapping or provider decision that another teammate may need to repeat.
