Matching reviews to products

Choose a reliable catalogue identifier before migrating reviews.

Work through the path

Use Shopify product ID when the source already belongs to the same Shopify catalogue.
For migrated catalogues, choose handle, SKU or EAN if it uniquely identifies the intended product.
Select the source column containing that identifier. For a custom product metafield, also provide its namespace and key.
Check variant and duplicate-identifier cases in the import preview. Fix ambiguous matches in the source data.
Run the import and inspect any skipped rows before retrying.

Identifiers from another Shopify store are not interchangeable with the product IDs in your current store.

Keep the result understandable

Use a representative product or workflow first, check the storefront experience on mobile and keep a record of any mapping or provider decision that another teammate may need to repeat.
