Adding and configuring widgets

Add app blocks to the Online Store 2.0 templates your products actually use.

Work through the path

  1. Open Online Store → Themes and choose Edit theme for the theme you want to configure.
  2. Select a product template. Use Add block → Apps to add Rootmade star ratings or product reviews in a section that supports app blocks.
  3. Save the template and check a product assigned to it. Repeat for other templates that need reviews.
  4. In Rootmade → Widgets, adjust colours and labels. Growth and Pro add advanced display controls.
  5. Check desktop and mobile, including a product without reviews. Only published reviews are displayed.
Theme sections control where app blocks can be placed. You can usually use an Apps section if a particular section does not accept blocks. No theme code edits are required.

Keep the result understandable

Use a representative product or workflow first, check the storefront experience on mobile and keep a record of any mapping or provider decision that another teammate may need to repeat.
